How Old Is Sabine Wren In Rebels & During The Events Of Ahsoka?

“Star Wars Rebels” famously ends with Ahsoka and Sabine joining forces in the wake of the Galactic Empire’s fall to go look for Ezra Bridger together. However, when “Ahsoka” picks back up with the two characters, it’s revealed that Rosario Dawson’s former Jedi not only decided to take on Sabine as her Padawan after the events of “Star Wars Rebels,” but that they eventually had a falling out. The first two episodes of “Ahsoka,” consequently, see the show’s leads struggle to move past their own, emotionally turbulent history.

It’s their unresolved differences that partly lead to Sabine’s brutal lightsaber fight with Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno) ending as badly as it does. While “Ahsoka” Episode 2 concludes with its eponymous hero resuming her mentorship of Sabine, too, it’s clear that their interpersonal issues still haven’t been totally resolved. In several interviews and featurettes that were released prior to the show’s premiere, its creator, Dave Filoni, notably hinted that it would focus on the complexities of master-apprentice relationships like Ahsoka and Sabine’s.

Taking that into account, there’s no denying that “Ahsoka” has already laid the groundwork for more drama to come between its two central heroes. The series could, of course, take its leads in numerous different directions, but it’s clear that they’ll both have to grow quite a bit if they want to succeed together. Seeing how much Sabine herself changes over the course of “Ahsoka” should, therefore, be one of the most exciting parts of the series, regardless of whether viewers are familiar with her adventures on “Star Wars Rebels” or not.
